XVII INTERNATIONAL  SYMPOSIUM ON LATIN AMERICAN INDIAN LITERATURES 

“Latin American Indian Representations Today”

The coordinating committee of the XVII International Symposium of Latin American Indian Literatures is calling for proposals of panels and individual presentations. Deadline was December 15, 2005. A selection of papers, that directly relate to Latin American Indigenous literatures, will be considered for publication in Latin American Indian Literatures Journal. Send proposals (of 150 words in English, Spanish or Portuguese) by traditional, electronic mail (MS, Word format) or fax, to the following coordinator:

Some suggested topics include:

African-Indigenous oral traditions, archaeology, cosmology, chronicles and codices as narrative, ethnicity, film, gender, history, indigenista literature, media, memory, myth, narrative and identity, natural and spiritual medicinal practices, orality, performance, religious syncretism, rituals, and video.
