  1. Chicago area hotels:

    Here is the list of all the Chicago area hotels that the University of Chicago recommends to its guests [PDF] and where they are offered discount rates if they identify themselves as guests of the University. It also provides useful information about how to contact these hotels and what kind of service to expect.  Most of these hotels are in downtown and are priced very high. Please note that all events are held on campus, and Hyde Park's Ramada Inn in the list is in Hyde Park (4900 S. Lake Shore Drive, 773-288-5819).
