Literacy Narrative

For this assignment, I’d like you to think about learning experiences you’ve had that relate to literacy, to reading and writing. What made these experiences memorable? Do they share any common elements? Did they mark your development as a learner in any particular ways?

Write an essay in which you describe an especially memorable literacy learning experience, explaining what happened as well as why it was valuable to you, either at the time it happened or from where you sit now looking back. You might explain how you changed as a result of the experience or what you know now that you didn’t know then. You might write about how you or others felt about the experience. Or you might write about how context (your age, the "assignment," your teacher--whether it was a teacher in school or a friend or an older brother or sister) influenced the experience.
