What We Did at Medary October 21, 2004 Amanda: This week, I had a better understanding of what my partner could do. We worked with the letter tiles, doing the alphabet, working on letter names and sounds. J's are very hard for her. We worked on word wall words. She knew those. Ashley: We worked with the letter tiles again. She liked playing with them. She thinks that reading is just for me to do right now. Griffin: We worked on sounds and word wall words. He seemed a little distracted this week by the chaos going on around him. Adam: She laughed a lot; it was hard to get to work. She makes letter sounds well, but she has trouble sounding out the words. Stacey: She read a book by herself. She loves Biscuit. Jared: He goes to the pictures when he doesn't know the words. Brock: He knew all of his word wall words. He doesn't mess around. David: I read. He tried. We worked with a simple book with one word on each page. Cheavis: He's optimistic. I try to tell him that words don't change. He's good at sounding out words. He's teaching me two Spanish words each week. Terry: She got up and walked around when she didn't know a word. Josie: We worked with the phonics book. She liked it. It incorporates letter sounds and games. We worked with flash cards. Brad: I brought a dozen books for him to choose from. He did better. We were out in the hall away from the distractions of the rest of the students. Beserat: We worked on word wall words--the alphabet, sound each letter made. We worked in the clost area. She got tired when she didn't want to do something. |
