Choosing from pop-up lists on the on-line submission forms, contributors can assign one main subject term to an entry as well as three additional keywords. The form then inserts a keyword designator from the righthand column into the record. These longer designators allow for simple searches on the basic search terms (e.g., Anthropology, Deserts, and so on) or searches limited to subjects or keywords (e.g., Deserts:Subj, Forests:Kw). Note: contributors submitting entries via e-mail, fax, or hard copy may use the shorter forms in the left column.
