About the Editors

Andrea Avenido is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a major in English. During college she was involved in Greek Life and is looking forward to a career in editing.

Puja Batra-Wells is a graduate of The Ohio State University. Her academic interests are in the fields of critical theory as well as cultural and nature studies, which she hopes to pursue further in graduate school.

MaríaTeresa Beltran-Aponte is a Ph.D. candidate in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures and a Graduate Teaching Associate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at The Ohio State University. Her research interests include Visual Culture, Literacy, and Contemporary Literature, in particular the relationships between text and image.

Karen M. Beyer is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University. She holds a B.A. in English, with a focus in American Literature, and a minor in professional writing. Karen now works as an Assistant Production Editor for the McGraw-Hill Companies' School-Solutions Group.

Mike Bubenik is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a major in political science.

Frances Buschur is a graduate student in the Department of Design at The Ohio State University, and holds a BFA in Fine Arts Graphic Design from Ohio University. Before returning to Gradate studies she worked professionally in the fields of Visual Communication and Corporate Identity.

Johaun Cheng is a senior from Vandalia, Ohio majoring in English. Like many, he is uncertain about his future but excited for the ride to come.

Katrina Cook is a first-year doctoral student working toward a Ph.D. in literacy at The Ohio State University. She holds a M.Ed. in reading and hopes to pursue a career working with school curricula.

Bill W. Dantowitz is a third-year English major from Boston, Massachusetts. He enjoys writing short fiction and plans to teach English in Latin America if and when he graduates.

Sam Eilerman is a senior English major at The Ohio State University, originally from Lima, Ohio. Upon graduation he plans on pursuing a career in professional writing.

Nate Ellis is a senior from Middletown, OH majoring in English. He plans to attend graduate school before pursuing a writing career.

Rachel Fouch is a recent graduate from The Ohio State University with a major in Textiles and Clothing and a minor in English. Soon after graduation she plans to move to Chicago where she will pursue a career in the textile and fashion industry.

Brian Keller is a third-year undergraduate student studying English and Professional Writing at The Ohio State University. After finishing his program, he wants to continue writing in one form or another.

Riley Lease is a third-year English major at The Ohio State University. He currently works as a supervisor within the offices of University Development, while also aspiring to make a career out of music and writing.

Mike Liddy is a senior in English with a focus in Corporate Communication and a minor in Business at The Ohio State University. He currently works as a New Business Development Consultant at UnitedHealthcare and plans to pursue a corporate career in the health insurance industry.

Nicholas Long is a senior English major with a concentration in contemporary literature.  He currently works as a student intern at WOSU Public Media as a production assistant on Fred Andrle's Open Line program.

Jennifer Schneider is a first-year graduate student in the English Education at The Ohio State University. She holds a BFA in Art Education and Art History. Upon completion of her current program, she is planning to pursue a Ph.D. and continue her work in Writing Centers.

H. Lewis Ulman, Principal Editor, is Associate Professor of English at The Ohio State University and Assistant Dean for Instructional and Research Technology in the College of Humanities. He has edited The Minutes of the Aberdeen Philosophical Society, 1758–1773 (Aberdeen University Press, 1990) and, with Dennis Quon, “Semiotics in Eighteenth-century Aberdeen: Thomas Gordon’s Contributions to the Aberdeen Philosophical Society” (Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteenth-Century 317 (1994): 57–115). He is currently working on an edition of the natural history discourses and letters of David Skene, M.D. (1731-1770), a draft version of which can be previewed online at http://people.cohums.ohio-state.edu/Ulman1/Skene/. He is delighted to be living and working at a time when print culture and digital culture are encountering and accommodating one another, allowing him and his students to learn more about both media than they could by studying either in isolation.

Victoria R. Urban is currently a senior at Ohio State University with a major in English.

Wonkyu Derrick Whan is a senior at The Ohio State University. He is majoring in English and hopes to become a high school teacher one day.

Derek Craig Zoladz is a senior in the Department of Comparative Studies at The Ohio State University. His academic interests include 20th century thought, radical music and identity. At home, you might find him composing music for Plexiglas® sheets, reading Jean Baudrillard, or listening to Edgard Varese. His current research focuses on early 20th century concert hall riots.
