Choose two poems contained in World War One British Poets: Brooke, Owen, Sassoon, Rosenberg and Others, each by a different poet, that you think best exemplify some of the main themes of BritainÕs involvement in World War I. Discuss the poems, the poets, and their historical context, explaining what themes are represented in each poem and why these themes are significant. Draw on your readings and the lectures to construct your essays, and follow the guidelines for paper writing included at the end of your syllabus. Papers will be due on 11 October at the beginning of class. Papers and assignments that are submitted after the professor has begun teaching will be considered late, with no exceptions.
