The
audio essays represented in this site, all authored by students in
1999-2006, constitute a central part of the article, "The Movement of Air, the Breath of Meaning: Aurality and Multimodal Composing" in
College Composition and Communication, June 2009, 60(4): 611-663.
Although
I and the authors reflect on these four aural compositions within this
site, they are texts that have their own lives and that can stand
easily on their own without the benefit of printed commentary.
In
fact, the environment of print is entirely inadequate to the task of
representing the various dimensions of sound as a composing modality;
hence, the necessity of including them on this web site instead of
within the pages of the CCC.
