Author of From Trickster to Badman: The Black Folk Hero in Slavery and Freedom; From Hucklebuck to Hip Hop: Social Dance in the African American Community in Philadelphia; African American Folklore in a Discourse of Folkness (in progress), many articles, book reviews, and papers on African-American literature and American folklore.
