Recipient from OSU Libraries of the 2005 Tiefel Achievement Award in Teaching "in recognition of continuing contributions to exemplary and innovative teaching." INSTRUCTION OFFERED:
- For the Spanish and Portuguese Department: PORT 330 (five credits), Introduction to Brazilian Culture (GEC) offered winter quarter each year; and reading/independent study courses, PORT 693, 893 (varying credit).
- For the History Department (graduate faculty-M): HIST 791 (varying credit) Reading/independent study courses on Brazilian history, especially modern political and cultural aspects.
- For the College of Arts and Sciences: A&S 138 (one credit), Amazon River and Rainforest: Exploring through Research, freshman seminar offered autumn quarter.
- For University Libraries: Classes and individual instruction (non-credit) in use of library research materials for Latin American studies, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- In the Center for Latin American Studies, Ohio University-Athens: INST 525 (five credits), Development of Modern Brazil (graduate seminar), usually offered first summer session.
