Mexico City, Cuernavaca, and Environs

The Center for Latin American Studies
at The Ohio State University invites
K-12
educators to participate in the ultimate interdisciplinary
adventure!
Designed to meet the professional development needs of educators
engaged
in mathematics and science education in our schools, this
graduate-level
study-abroad program will focus on the advancements and technologies of
the
Mesoamerican civilizations, and the incorporation of insights gained
into
state-of-the-art lesson plans and units.
Our host and guide in Mexico will be anthropologist Charles Goff,
Director
of the Cemanáhuac
Educational
Community in Cuernavaca. OSU Professors Donna Berlin (Math
Education)
and Arthur
White (Science Education) will teach this 6-credit, graduate-level
course,
and will accompany the group while in Mexico. Carol Robison,
Assistant
Director of the OSU Center for Latin
American
Studies, is the coordinator for this program and will also travel
with
the group.
