General Background:
(Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University): Twentieth-century American literature, sexuality studies, intersectionality studies. Author of Reading Desire: In Pursuit of Ernest Hemingway, Readers and Mythic Signs: The Oedipus Myth in 20th-century Fiction, and articles on Thomas Pynchon, William Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, Katherine Anne Porter, romantic comedy and same-sex marriage, and coming-out pedagogy. Director and Co-organizer of DISCO (Diversity and Identity Studies Collective at OSU: http://disco.osu.edu), Co-Coordinator of the Sexuality Studies Program (http://sexualitystudies.osu.edu), and Associated Faculty in the Departments of Comparative Studies and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Recipient of the 2004 College of Humanities Diversity Enhancement Award and the 2009 Ohio State Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award.
