I see some of my colleagues providing personal pages on the Web, and I have decided to do so also. My purpose is to help students enrolled in my classes know a little bit more about me, especially personal matters. I will also include a little bit about my professional life. I served as the first Webmaster for the Department of History. With the help of some wonderful student assistants, we developed pages to inform both prospective and current students about opportunities to study history at Ohio State. We have also provided some special material on the Web, material that every day attracts the attention of hundreds of visitors from around the world. Thus the Web provides me with the largest audience I have ever enjoyed. Now, I am pleased to report, this web service is being integrated into the department's administration, under the capable hands of John Tully, now serving as Webmaster. To the left you will see buttons that will guide you to different areas of these personal pages. I have written these pages with Microsoft Front Page 98, which University Technology Services recommends and will try to help us learn in workshops. You will see their features best with Internet Explorer 3 or higher, but Netscape 3 or higher will also work well with the pages. This page was last updated on 12/10/00. |
