Work in
Progress by Dr. Jan Alber (University of Freiburg, Germany) and Dr.
Marina Grishakova (University of Tartu, Estonia)
A Colloquium
Sponsored by Project Narrative
Welcome! This page contains
information about the papers that formed the basis for
a colloquium featuring the work of Jan Alber and Marina Grishakova,
Visiting Scholars currently working under the auspices of Project
Narrative. The colloquium took place on Thursday, April 3, 2008, in
Denney Hall, Room 311, from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Since these projects are still in
progress, links to the two
papers on which the colloquium was based have been deleted.
Participants in the colloquium were encouraged to download these papers
and read them in
advance, since Marina and Jan did not present the papers in
their entirety during the session itself. Rather, they took about
10-15 to provide some framing context for their work and to synopsize
their main ideas. The rest of the time was devoted to discussion of
the issues raised by the two papers.
