Minerva Island
Women's Studies in Second Life

In January of 2008 The Department of Women's Studies offered its first course taught entirely in Second Life, an online virtual world. Students of WS110d attend online classes twice a week, and complete coursework on an accompanying website. To learn more about this course, please use the sidebar link.
Second Life is a persistent virtual world; this means that our island will always be available to students, even when class is not in session. Students are able to meet with each other outside of class time to complete collective work, to study class materials, or merely to socialize.
Events on Minerva are listed on our Google Calendar, along with many other Second Life events of general interest. Due to the international nature of our community all events are posted in Pacific Standard Time.
Virtual Women's Community Project events will be scheduled beginning September 15
