MC's Home Page

This webpage lists the courses that I have taught over the years at The Ohio State University. Chinese language courses in DEALL are taught in Chinese except for Fact Days in English, while culture and linguistics courses are taught in English. Syllabi of courses that I have taught are given for the traditional Chinese culture course (Chinese 231), Chinese opera course (Chinese 674), and all of the Chinese linguistics courses available from my department. See also the full listing of Courses offered in DEALL, which covers the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures' undergraduate and graduate courses in language, literature, and linguistics. For our university's quarterly Master Schedule of Classes and other online information, visit OSU's Office of the University Registrar.

In the list immediately below, a link is made to the online course syllabus for the most recent offering of that course. At the latter portion of this course page is an archive of previous years' course syllabi. Note that Chinese linguistics courses are taught during the regular academic year (a.y.), which covers the following three quarters in our quarter system: Autumn Quarter, Winter Quarter, and Spring Quarter. (That is, regular faculty members, such as yours truly, are on nine-month contract with the University and typically teach during these three quarters of the academic year (or rotate out of one quarter from the regular academic year to teach during Summer Quarter instead).)
