Screen literacy focuses on the "screens" around us (movie, television, computer) and encourages critical thinking about how those screens frame multimedia (images, text, sound, etc.) to create meaning. Screen literacy focuses on anything and everything that we read, see, or hear via a screen. It incorporates true multimedia presentations and should encourage students to analyze the ways in which multimedia work together to create meaning, rather than analyzing each element separately. If you are new to this module, begin with the Overview, which explains the essential issues, goals, and learning activities of the module. The Assignments and Resources pages are the heart of the module, and encourage you to think about web pages more critically, or from many different points of view, analyzing many aspects of the medium.
