Enrolled as ABD in the Latin American Literatures and Cultures PhD program, with interests related to indigenous studies, identity, ritual, and performance. Research with the Kaqchikel Maya in Guatemala.
M.A. in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures, Modern Trans-Atlantic Studies (2007) from The Ohio State University
B.A. magna cum laude in Spanish (2005) from Case Western Reserve University. Minors in Physics, Astronomy, and Latin American Ethnic Studies.
