Roxann Wheeler (Associate Professor) (Ph.D., Syracuse University): Eighteenth-century literature and culture, particularly race, empire, and slavery. Author of The Complexion of Race: Categories of Difference in Eighteenth-Century British Culture and of articles on labor, slavery, servitude, as well as whiteness and the novel.
