After the disastrous attack of the Spanish Armada on England in 1588, some of the surviving ships sailed up to Scotland. One of those galleons. the Florida, never made it farther than the Isle of Mull. The captain of the ship became embroiled in the feuds of the Maclean clan, and some Highlanders blew up the Florida in Tobermory Bay. The cannon in the picture looks like a toy but was one more part of the lethal arsenal aboard the ship. Found in Tobermory Bay, the artifact can now be seen in Duart Castle, the seat of the Maclean clan.
