This stronghold, which stands on an islet slightly off the coast of Argyle, is one of the castles associated with the Western Stewart clan. Castle Stalker also appears in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Close to the the castle is the village of Appin, which gave its name to the Appin Murder, an assassination which took place in the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden.
