Dun Mor Vaul, Isle of Tiree


    This Iron Age fort dates back to about 50 years before the beginning of the Christian Era and was then continuously inhabited until about 300 AD, when it seems to have been burned. No written records exist of the people who built this broch (another term for an ancient fort in Scotland), but archeologists have surmised that the builders were Celts who sailed to Scotland from southwestern Britain.
