Jeredith Merrin (Professor) (Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley): Poetry and poetic theory, twentieth-century literature, creative writing (poetry). Author of An Enabling Humility: Marianne Moore, Elizabeth Bishop, and the Uses of Tradition; Shift, a book of poetry published by the University of Chicago Press (Phoenix Poets Series), and Bat Ode (2001), also from Phoenix Poets Series; articles on Moore, Bishop, George Herbert, Charlotte Mew, Randall Jarrell, John Clare, Billy Collins,Yehuda Amichai, and others.  Poetry published in Ploughshares, Ms., Kenyon Review, Hudson Review, Paris Review, Southwest Review, Sewanee Review, The Southern Review, Yale Review,Slate, and elsewhere.
